2010 was a whirwind of blogging conferences for me.
I started the year off by speaking at Altitude Summit in Salt Lake City – such an intimate and polished event. Next up was BlissDom ’10 in Nashville. I had a great time, laughed, learned, cried…and was even stranded an extra day when the DC airports shut down due to #Snowmageddon10. Then came a speaking engagement at Bloggy BootCamp in Baltimore, MD – a casual and informative gathering of mostly local bloggers. The summer brought a speaking gig at Blogging While Brown, then BlogHer ’10, where Blogalicious hosted “A New York State of Mind” Community Party, and where I spoke on a panel as well. Of course, I co-hosted Blogalicious10 on South Beach, Miami in October and then spoke at the Essence Women’s Conference on the topic of Blogging for Business. I closed out the year at Lavish! in Atlanta, GA; a phenomenal end to a blog fun-filled year.
So what’s on the horizon for me in 2011?
I’m definitely easing up on the travel this year. As fun as it was, it was also rough on both me and my family. Plus, three of the conferences I attended in 2010 were work-related, which isn’t the case this year. And so, I have narrowed my plans down to 3 events (ok, maybe 4):
- Mom 2.0 Summit. Word on the street is that this is a top-notch event that should not be missed. I’m looking forward to going to see old friends and make new ones, in the culturally and culinary rich city of NOLA.
- Type A Parent. I was so crushed to not make it to Asheville last year. I was slated to speak on a panel and the night before my flight I got sick; not to mention that I was crazed preparing for Blogalicious. I shall make it to Kelby’s event this year by hook or by crook!
- Blogalicous ’11. We’ll be in D.C., baby!
- Lavish! This goes without saying. I loved loved loved TBS’ inaugural unconference and can’t wait for the next one.
That’s my plan…as of January 5th anyway. I could be convinced to make it to San Diego for BlogHer ’11. Oh and to SanFran for BlogHer Food. Oh and to BlogWorldExpo. And…and….
Will you be on the blog conference circuit this year?
