Each summer, I like putting everything on pause to stop and smell the seasonal roses. It’s my way of ensuring that sumer doesn’t pass me by without me realizing it. Nothing’s worse than finding myself in the middle of back-to-school and back-to-closed-toe-shoes without having thoroughly enjoyed the lazy days of summer. After reading the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living, I’ve made an easy summer checklist of what summer means and plan to happily start checking off items from the list. Won’t you join me?
What Summer Means…
Freshly Picked Berries (in a pie!).
Brightly Hued Pedicures. I’m a little obsessed with Ombre Nails.
An Outdoor Nap. We’ve got a hammock. I’ve got no excuse.
An Old-Fashioned Picnic. Deviled eggs. Fried chicken. Mason-jar salads. I want the whole thing.
Homemade Ice Cream. Yes.
A Girly Beach Read. Check! I’m halfway through Wedding Night.
Boardwalk Fries. Malt vinegar optional.
Sand Between My Toes. I’m thinking a day trip to Rehoboth will do.
Nothing Earth-shattering or mind-blowing right? But I daresay that if I check off every item on this list, I’ll have sprinkled my summer with signature signs of the season.
Let’s get to work!
