IKEA: Bring Your Own Friend Day 1.14.12

My family spends way too much time in IKEA.  We love it. Plain and simple.  We visit for design inspiration, when we need a new bookshelf, a new set of silverware, or even on a rainy day when the kids need to get out of the house.  This weekend we actually have a good excuse to go:

On Saturday, January 14, IKEA will host BYOF Day (BYOF stands for Bring Your Own Friend), which will be a nationwide, in-store event full of special perks and activities designed to be shared with friends and family.

BYOF Day perks include the following:

Free breakfast, two-for-one salads and crepes for lunch
$1000 in gift card giveaways at each IKEA store
Sampling from the Swedish Food Market along with recipe cards so friends can recreate their favorite dishes at home
Free IKEA blue bags
Free customized design advice with “Ask a Home Furnishings Expert”
Complimentary massages provided by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB)

To download coupons for the event and learn more about BYOF Day, visit the BYOF tab on the IKEA Facebook page. While there, you can RSVP, access planning tools and send customized invites to your friends as you create your “IKEA Shopping Team.” For each friend invited, IKEA will donate $1 to Save the Children, up to $50,000. Use the store locator to discover what IKEA store is closest to you.

I just might see you there.
