I can definitely tell when I’m subconsciously managing my stress. It manifests in me hitting the kitchen like a tornado and spending hours poring over cookbooks and pondering substitutes for ingredients like buttermilk…
which, in case you’re wondering, there are multiple fixes for – the easiest for me was to mix Cream of Tartar with milk.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize the correlation between my anxiety level and the fact that Blogalicious is in 12 days. I’m not so much “anxious” as I am busy, busy, busy tying up loose ends and lining up details and finalizing plans. It’s a lot to manage and still be mindfully present at home.
And so busting out the KitchenAid mixer and sifting through the refrigerator for rarely used condiments is my way of regaining control over outcomes and blowing off steam. This weekend that meant a Football Sunday Menu of:
Chicken & Honey Sandwiches
Mudslide Shakes
Chicken Pot Pie
Chocolate Bourbon-Cola Bundt Cake
Twelve Days!
I sense a casserole coming on.

You are a rock star!
That looks GOOOOOD!
I look forward to possibly seeing you at Blogalicious. I will be in attendance as well.
I manage stress by eating! I probably should consider baking and cooking and at least be productive at it!
I just found your blog and have enjoyed visiting. I’m hoping to make it to Blogalicious next year.
