Shield your eyes from this horrendous snapshot of my dresser. It’s carpeted in random beauty products, almost entirely courtesy of blog conferences, product reviews and other swagalicious opportunities. The funny thing is that I’m not even a “beauty blogger.” So I can only imagine what their dressers look like!
Other than my essentials – Vaseline, Jergens, Secret, SoftSoap Body Wash, Neutrogena Facial Scrub, and moisturizer – I don’t really buy too many beauty items for myself. Don’t get me wrong – I love lotions and oils and scrubs and masks and the like, but they always seem like such a luxury, and therefore not in the budget.
Of course, one of the many perks of this blogging thang, is The Stuff. I generally give most of it away via my Swag Closet {my friends know all about it!} but for some reason, I can’t part with the beauty products. Much to my neat-freak husband’s chagrin, each little bottle, pot, vial and compact finds their way to my dresser and waits to be sampled.
On deck this week is the Bliss Blood Orange + White Pepper line of bath and body products that I was gifted at the #MightyHappy book release party for my Mighty Pal Gretchen Rubin this summer. So yummy.
And totally worth the deep sighs coming from Hubby each time he walks by my side of the room.
What a timely post for me! I was just cleaning up my bedroom and saw my swag beauty products staring back at me. They are in a huge tote bag in the corner waiting for trial and review. Sigh. I think I need to just pack them up and start giving some away!
I had to giggle when I read about your husbands deep sighs! I know that sound well as my hubby does the same! He doesn’t seem impressed that I haven’t purchased shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, moisturizer (you get the picture), in over a year.

Cynthia – the men? they totally underestimate the savings! although my hubby totally appreciated the box of Gain laundry samples we got last year…he was sad when we got to the end
I have a secret: I still have bottles and bottles of Suave lotion from the FIRST Blogalicious conference. And the gift bag I got from Oprah’s conference last year…still untouched in the corner of my bedroom. And you don’t want to know what’s in my bedroom closet. You don’t want to know. But I can’t bear to give any of it away. I’m a hoarder, I admit.
