Operation Recuperation {hint: it involves chocolate}

After Blogalicious was all said and done, I was knocked out in my hotel room mid-morning, after having woken up at 5am to get the Hubby and kids off to their flight, when my friend stopped by the room to pick something up.

I think I scared her.

It wasn’t until 2 days later, when we were both back home in the DMV, that she shared with me: “I saw you on Monday. You looked TIRED. I don’t think you need to be going anywhere or doing anything for a while.”

I must have looked a mess! And I was. But I’m getting back on track.  Remember last week when I shared my list of Life Items that I was looking forward to reclaiming? I’ve only been back on the East Coast for 4 days and I’m happy that I’ve made headway in several of those areas:

Wednesday evening, Chatterbox, L’il Buddy and I hit the library (really, for her to get books for school, but I took advantage!).  I have 3 girly novels waiting for me to dive into.  On the fitness front, I also got a short run in today.  The weather was perfect and I actually multi-tasked while doing it – I ran to Chatterbox’s school to deliver her lunch money that she left behind.  I’ve also been making plans with girlfriends and have my first girlfriend getaway planned for a couple of weeks from now.

And if you happen to be in Las Vegas (or passing through the airport like I was), I highly recommend picking up a box of Ethel M. Sea Salted Caramels. They will work wonders for your disposition.
